Sunset Over Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains

The Space Needle completed renovations mid summer 2018 and I had it on my to-do list to take a ride up the glass elevator to experience the changes. The most notable upgrade is the replacement of the observation deck perimeter wall and wire system to contain the crowd. Now, there are sheets of thick glass from floor to ceiling with small air gaps between.

I timed my trip with a great sunset prediction (sunsetwx) which is typically more wrong than right, but this evening it was extremely right! At the same time, a full moon was rising behind me over the Cascade Mountains.

The Prints

The TruView TruLife print is truely the top of the line when it comes to wall prints. The glass surface is highly scratch-resistant, is static-free, and dramatically removes distracting reflections. This glass protects the archive-quality print below and lets it shine through. The print mounts to the wall using an aluminum sub-frame that floats the surface 3/4" off the wall for prentation depth.

These rigid glossy prints are factory-coated with a white base layer. The photograph is first printed with inks then layed over the metal print and pressed together at high temperature. When the ink heats up, it becomes a gas and transfers off the paper and into the surface of the metal print giving it weather resistance and longevity.

Compared to Acrylic Wall Prints: +lighter +heat-resistant +can be more vibrant due to no glass
